HootSuite is a Social Media Management Platform. Is It Something I Need?

As I read about social media management, I am reminded that Hootsuite is a service I paid for in the past. I probably read about their services on a blog site and felt it was a service I needed. Looking back, I don’t really know if it helped my outreach or if it had little benefit. I know that I had no expertise in using this service, so if it was not useful, it was probably due to user error, the user being me, and my lack of knowledge. In light of that, I thought I would take another look at this service.

First off What is Hootsuite?

“Hootsuite is a social media management platform, created by Ryan Holmes in 2008. The system’s user interface takes the form of a dashboard, and supports social network integrations for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube”  Wikipedia

I found this quote on website planet.com

Hootsuite is a great tool, but in order to stay on top of your marketing game, you need to have a strong social media strategy in place. … If you’re looking for a Facebook scheduler, Instagram scheduler, or Pinterest scheduler, Hootsuite will work for you

What sounds good to me in both of these quotes is that they will share my content on social media platforms. I spend a lot of time sharing, and it would be nice to have someone else share the content for me.

After watching this video, I am still confused. I did watch another video with the same outcome. With that in mind, I have decided to experiment. I am going to play around with the free version of Hootsuite. I will see if there is any benefit to my blog and youtube channels. If it seems to be helping me in some way, I will move onto the paid version.

If you use Hootsuite I would love to know your thoughts on this service. I will keep you updated on my experience.

Happy Blogging and Writing!
