The other day I was blogging and I got a notification of a “Pingback”. I must admit I was perplexed. What in the heck is a pingback? I had no idea. Let’s head to google to find out.

I found one answer on a WordPress site
“A pingback is a special type of comment that’s created when you link to another blog post, as long as the other blog is set to accept pingbacks.”
I found another site that says, yes, pingbacks are a good thing for your blog. This was on a site called Web Strategies
If you want to enable pingbacks on your website you can. Here is a link again to the WordPress site that will show you how to enable pingbacks.
I am going to try to enable pingbacks for this post and wait to see what happens. If you are writing a post, look at the post toolbar on the right of your screen. At the bottom is a discussion option. Click on that, and in it, you will see a place to allow comments and allow pingbacks. They are both already checked on my site, so I must have ok’d that option when I set up my blog.
Happy Blogging Everyone!
